Is smoking obsolete? Sometimes it seems so in this frontier town.
Status: Invite friends who smoke over to smoke on the balcony.

Rationally I know that taking up smoking again just to use an ashtray is a bad idea, it is quite tempting!
Quite so. There’s not too much rational about smoking, in my prior (and still occasionally longed for ) experience with it:)

Lovely photographs – that’s the trouble with smoking today (and part of the reason I gave up), it has to be done on balconies, in alleys and freezing cold back gardens.
Yes indeed. Especially where winter comes on in full force it was a cruel and lonely activity. I gave it up as it started to conflict with my running goals:)
