It wasn’t until I went to shoot the pinbacks that I realized what I am more attached to is the bag I keep them in.From my parents probably. I only learned to appreciate Scotch quite recently. I won’t rush out and buy it, but won’t wrinkle my nose so much either. Briefly glancing in the googlesphere I see that the bag is probably not worth much. But I like the colour.
Here are the pinbacks. Quite shabby. I got rid of a few of them in that post break-in purge. The x-men one might be worth $25. I almost sold the garfield ones a couple of years ago on craigslist. The guy never showed up. I didn’t pursue it, although I had his phone number.
The Karen Empire designed a pinback when Hillary Clinton was trying to get the democratic presidential nomination. The button had a kitten on it and it read “Kittens for Clinton”
Sweet. Have you got any of those left? Would love to see.
(Mmmmm? Yesterday’s comment didn’t get recorded. Maybe it didn’t pass.)
The bag : I always admired it. That rich purple, the gold cord and Royal emblem, the deflated shape – rather decadent.
Max added his Royal Crown, boyhood marble-bag to our combined – objets.
I moved a small collection of antique pins from my mother’s house when clearing it after her death. She must have snapped them up from some church rummage sale. They’re quite neat and rather useless, unless used for an art project projecting nostalgia.
Hmm – no yesterday’s comment in the queue. Odd.
Royal crown bag for marbles – perfect!
Very interesting take on pin backs!
