Llyod’s AM/FM Transistor Radio.

Bell Laboratories demonstrated the first transistor on December 23, 1947. Wikipedia tells me there are many other claimants to the prize of being the first to produce a transistor radio. Bell demoed a prototype in 1948 and the Regency TR-1 was introduced in 1954 by I.D.E.A.

Mr. OP got this at a garage sale and mainly used it for trips to the beach. Which has a classic feel to it.
I have subsequently bought him a new fangled solar powered, and also hand crankable powered tiny radio which is more in use now. But this stills hangs around.

I find these dots slightly hypnotic.

Status: Borrowed. There is something charming about this radio, so sturdy, so I won’t push for it to be shoved out the door.

Kill-ratio: 23:2 / ~12:1

(pix with captions are not counted towards kill ratio. Hey it’s my blog, my logic)

Alt-title: Untitled Object No. 218 For Keeping Your Signals Clear.

Van Morrison’s Brown Eyed Girl, in case the video is blocked for those outside N.A.

As per usual, a shout-out thanks to Richard, and to John, for inspiring the Alt-Title Untitled post nonsense, and to Ben for the jokes format. I hope there’s someone out there who knows html and appreciates the extra element of the “joke” (no pun intended)
